The Meetings

© 2011 by Sylvia Sholar

Do I hear a motion?

outside the trees tremble

a yellow curtain of light

First we need to discuss striking number six.

a small gray rabbit

nibbling Indian corn decorations

We can amend this.

or maybe corn candy

What are the extenuating circumstances?

it’s very warm outside

paint peels on elderly Victorian buildings

Such as a computer crash?

helter-skelter

the lawn mower blows crinkled autumn leaves

This has to be turned around in four months.

the pigeons on the lawn

do they migrate now to the South?

I move we adjourn now.

waning October light

sunset has made its decision.
